The former issue restored Jon and his father's secret identities, something Jon is seen appreciating at the end of the aforementioned preview, while the latter further awakened Jon's electric blue powers following Son of Kal-El's final issue. The title arrives after Jon's previous ongoing solo series written by Taylor, Superman: Son of Kal-El, but also spins out of the events of Action Comics #1050 and Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton #1.
